Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can be useful for a range of different issues. Anxiety,  stress, low mood, confidence and self-esteem are all issues that hypnotherapy can support with. When our self-esteem is low, we often focus on our weaknesses and are often critical of ourselves. This can affect our ability to cope and lead us to worry unnecessarily. Anxiety and stress can cause changes in your behaviour and the way you think and feel about situations, resulting in symptoms such as irritability, anger, a feeling of dread and difficulty concentrating. Hypnotherapy can help to build up our self-esteem to develop a more positive self-perception and self-empowerment. Hypnotherapy can help to change our negetive beliefs about ourself and situations we encounter in our day to day lives. Hypnothery can help replace negative thought patterns with positive ones leading to a more confident and clear outlook.

If you are a smoker and really want to give up, then Hypnotherapy may be the right thing for you.

 

We all know smoking is bad for us, but some people find it more difficult than others to kick the habit. This is often because our subconcious mind wants to maintain our current habits and behaviours. 

 

During Hypnotherapy, we bring the concious mind and the subconcious mind together, to focus on the same thing, quitting smoking! Your conscious mind will take control of your subconscious mind, as it should, and you will leave therapy a non-smoker.

As a qualified KGHypnobirthing Teacher and a qualified Hypnotherapist, I am able to offer a complete antenatal programme, which is simple, logical and profound.

 

Childbirth is a perfectly natural process but it can be an anxious time for parents-to-be. Self-hypnosis can be taught to Mum-to-be and with support from the birth partner. Hypnobirthing is centred on releasing fear and building confidence through practising relaxation techniques and the use of hypnotherapy.

Hypnotherapy can reduce the time of labour, reduce the need for medication and intervention and reduce the length of hospital stay. Mum remains in control and if intervention is required, decisions can be made as in informed choice.

​

The HypnoBirthing sessions are usually 2 hours long delivered once a week over 3 weeks. As well as the sessions, you also receive a copy of the KG Hypnobirthing Book, a resource pack, relaxation audio tracks and an optional "Beyond Birth" Postnatal Course by Komu. The sessions are private, just you, your birth partner and me.

Phobias, Chronic Pain & Motivation/ Performance 

Hypnotherapy can help with a plethora of other issues such as phobias, chronic pain and motivation/ performance.

 

Phobias: Irrational fears and phobias are the result of an overactive survival response in the brain. Your brain recognises something it has seen or heard (a trigger) and thinks this poses a threat to your safety. With a phobia, that trigger can be innocent and non-threatening so the increase in anxiety is inappropriate and unhelpful. Hypnotherapy can disrupt this response so that the brain no longer sees the trigger as dangerous, thus getting rid of the phobia.

Chronic Pain: The perception of pain is very much affected by our emotional state- if we are depressed, anxious or upset then we are likely to feel pain more.  Hypnotherapy can help alleviate chronic pain by reducing these feelings and encouraging positivity. This in turn promotes the natural chemicals in our bodies that reduce our perception of pain and help us cope better.

Motivation/ Performance: Sometimes we lack the energy, drive or self-confidence to get on in life and to achieve all that we want to achieve. Perhaps nerves prevent you from doing well in exams, sport or other areas of performance. Mental rehearsal is a method of visualising a situation to improve subsequent performance. Hypnotherapy can help you concentrate on the possible and remove any barriers preventing you from achieving your goals

Children & Young People

Children and young people also experience difficulties, such as  anxiety and low mood, as well as many other issues. 

​

I have worked with children and young people for over 16 years and have worked across the whole age span of 3- 17 years old. I am trained in many different approaches with regards to working with children and I am also a Trauma and Mental Health Informed Practitioner so I have a well developed set of skills to help children and young people. I am also a Youth Mental Health First Aider and deliver this training for MHFA England.

Solution Focused work is suitable for children and young people due to its postive forward thinking nature. Solution Focused Therapy is different from other types of practice as the change that is sought is located in an imagined future. Of course, children have amazing imaginations, and this can be utilised in therapy. I see children for many different presentations of anxiety such as issues with sleeping, food/eating, nail biting, bed-wetting and not wanting to go to school. Children will often demonstrate their confusion or distress by becoming angry or sad, or with challenging behaviour. Stress can result from life changes such as moving home, moving school, bullying, bereavement and family breakdown. With older children and teenagers, as well as the above, there may be issues with self-confidence, self-esteem, and exam stress.

Sleep Consultation

As a trained sleep consultant, Katie can support children, parents and adults to help introduce better sleep patterns into their routines by developing sleep plans and offering guidance and support as needed through prescribed or bespoke sleep packages.

People often approach therapists for sleep consultation when they are experiencing difficulties with sleep or where they are looking to establish positive sleep associations.

Sessions can be a one off appointment or a series of appointments supporting with the developing of healthy sleeping patterns.

 

A free initial 20 minute telephone consultation is offered to ascertain if sleep consultations would be appropriate.

Reiki & Hypnosis

Reiki & Hypnosis is a blend of two deeply relaxing holistic therapies to bring about a sense of wellbeing and relaxation. This blended treatment involves therapeutic hypnosis and Reiki healing. Combining these two therapies together brings powerful results as they encourage you to deal subconsciously with any underlying issues that were raised in the consultation,  and healing is further amplified with the wonderful flow of reiki energy. ​Hypnotherapy involves guiding you through a form of deep relaxation. Hypnotherapy also gets you 'ready to receive' reiki healing without resistance.  Reiki energy is easily shared, amplifying the healing process and relaxartion.​ Together, both practices can have longer-lasting effects and you get a deeper healing connection. Both Reiki and Hypnotherapy help you find true peace of mind and bring positivity to help you cope with life’s daily challenges. This combined session provides a relaxing and positive way to help you heal your whole body as it encompasses healing for physical, emotional and mental problems. A session brings deep relaxation, soothing emotions and reducing negative feelings. As a holistic and complementary therapy, Reiki and Hypnotherapy are  now used regularly alongside conventional medicine to relieve side effects of illness and to promote recovery.

Online Relaxation

Relaxation sessions are a great way to support your overal health and wellbeing. The 30 minute relaxation sessions are conducted online so you can relax in your own space at home. Taking time for yourself to rest and reset has been proven to help reduce our overall stress levels, reduce blood pressure and bring about a sense of clarity and optimism. Self care is incredibly important in order to ensure our stress buckets don't over flow. Taking care of our mental health as well as our physical health is incredibly important.

 

As well as a 30 minute relaxation session, you will also receive two audio downloads to support with confidence and sleep.
