About Katie

Hello, my name is Katie and I am a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Coach and Trauma Informed Practitioner. I am a registered member of the National Hypnotherapy Society which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. The Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care promotes the health, safety and wellbeing of patients, service users and the public by raising standards of regulation and registration of people working in health and care. They are an independent body, accountable to the UK Parliament. All Registrants are bound by the Society’s Code of Ethics.

Prior to training as a Hypnotherapist, I worked with children and families for over 17 years, latterly as the Assistant Principal of a large primary school, within a Multi Academy Trust that covered nursery, primary, secondary and college provision. Within my role, I led on all aspects of safeguarding, wellbeing and pastoral care as the Designated Safeguarding and Mental Health Lead within the primary setting. Due to my professional background, I have various skills and qualifications in education and training as well as qualifications in counselling and trauma informed practice.

In 2020, I left my role in school to work independently as a therapist, trainer, supervisor, and consultant and I currently run my own private practice as well as offering training and consultancy to organisations that work with children and their families.

As well as holding professional qualifications in hypnotherapy, I am also a qualified trauma informed mental health practitioner, and senior trainer and supervisor for Trauma Informed Schools UK. I am also an Instructor Member for MHFA England, delivering their Mental Health First Aid courses.

Wellbeing and mental health support have always been a passion of mine and with this in mind, I trained as a 200hr Certified Yoga Teach and Meditation Teacher so I could share the benefits of Yoga with others. I also hold a Diploma in Hypnobirthing and further training in Dr David Muss' Rewind Trauma Therapy. I also hold certifications in NLP, Coaching, Multiple Braining Techniques (mBit Coaching)and Transactional Analysis.

Part of working safely and ethically with clients, it is important that therapists access supervision, which I do on a regular basis. Supervision is incredibly important, I therefore trained as a TIS supervisor and safeguarding supervisor, so I could support other trauma informed practitioners, DSLs and senior leaders with their client work and caseloads in school. I am an accredited and registered clinical supervisor with APT.

On a personal note, I love nothing  more than walking my two dogs and spending time with my family. I love catching up with friends, spending time outdoors and watching a good film.
